First 2005 Appointment
Children's Hospital, Seattle, WA; 20 May 2005 at 1:00 pm -- Dr. Michael Portman
Emma - May 21, 2005
|
Emma had her six month check up (which also turns out to be her first 2005 appointment) to determine if the increased dosage of her enalapril would stabilize heart growth. She had an echo and an exercise test. Dr. Portman was happy with the results of both tests and said that Emma's heart size had actually decreased a little. For now, she will stay on her current dosage of medication and follow up in six months.
Emma seems to be feeling well. The dizziness from the increased dosage of enalapril six months ago has subsided. She still gets some dizziness, but Dr. Portman says it is fine. Emma does well in school and the periodic dizziness doesn't seem to affect her work.
Second 2005 Appointment
Children's Hospital, Seattle, WA; 16 December 2005 at 9:30 am -- Dr. Michael Portman
Emma had her six month check up today. Today was also the last day of school before Christmas Vacation; and Emma missed it. Emma and I arrived at Children's Hospital about 15 minutes late. Traffic up the freeway was horrible due to fog, ice, and a few fender benders along the way.
Emma had an echocardiogram and an EKG. The echo is very informative because it takes full motion images of the heart from four different angles. It allows the physician to form a kind of three-dimensional image from the four angles. Dr. Portman examined Emma. She has grown in six months and Dr. Portman said the size of her heart is the same. Emma does not need surgery. Her dosage of enalapril seems okay. Dr. Portman said to see him again in a year.
