Emma - November 25, 2004

Emma had her annual appointment today - Friday, 19 November 2004. Emma weighs 72 lbs. As luck would have it, she came down with a migraine as we got to the hospital. On her way to get her echocardiogram, she felt very sick and threw up all over the floor right in front of the elevators. She was able to lie down for 45 minutes during her echo and felt quite a bit better after that. We then went to talk to Dr. Portman. He said that her heart had enlarged more than her weight gain should allow. He increased her medication from 5 mg. of enalapril to 10 mg. to see if that would slow the enlargement of her heart. We have to go back in six months for an exercise test and another echo. At that time Dr. Portman will determine if we will have to do something about Emma's mitral valve.
